DISNEY WORLD BOUND! The "Blue Devils" Marching Band has been invited to perform at the Walt Disney World's 50th Anniversary celebration in 2022. Junior Easton Swint ,left, bass clarinet, joins Senior Joshua Waggoner, baritone saxophone musician in the bands tribute to the Armed Services. The event is held as a fund-raiser for the USA Patriots Kids Camp for handicapped children and other veteran charities.

BUD BUDDIES! Emily, left, and Dana served cold beer to the many fans who endured temperatures in the 90's. Treu House of Munch has been a sponsor of the USA Patriot's charity fund-raising softball tournaments since 2018. The charity event, held August 28 at Mercy Health Field/CYO Park contributes to the USA Patriots Kids Camp for handicap children, plus selected veteran charities and scholarships.

The Springfield High School's Blue Devil Marching Band joins the Navel Sea Cadets for a color-waving musical tribute to the USA!

The musicians who comprise the Blue Devil Marching Band represent Springfield High School, Springfield Township and the Village of Holland, Ohio. Since the Band's inception in 1935, the student musicians and their advisors have created a legacy of excellence in performance. BDMB combines the talents of 130 student musicians coming from every corner of the school. All Springfield High School bands are under the direction of Travis Pennell.

THE SPRINGFIELD HIGH SCHOOL'S Emerald Guard Drill Team was the only Army JROTC to represent the five states that fall under the 7th Brigade. For 35 + years the JROTC program has been offered at Springfield. JROTC Commander First Sergeant Rickey Thomas noted that "The routine of the Emerald Guard Drill Team often causes the entire student body to pause to watch their high-flying exhibition routines that include a "nine-man throw!"

Springfield High School Cadets earn National Recognition in All-Service JROTC Armed Events!

The JROTC Emerald Guard placed 3rd in the Armed Exhibition Squad (commanded by Cadet Caroline Salatin) - retaining the right to be called the 3rd Best Team in the World of Drill Exhibition against all services - against all teams affiliated through the Army, Navy and Air Force and Marines.

The JROTC Emeral Guard also took the following places in the All-Service Nationals:

Event: 7th Place in Armed IDR Platoon (commanded by Cadet Emmalee Jackson) - 7th Best Team in the Drill World against Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines.

4th PLACE in Armed IDR Inspection -4th Best Team in the Drill World against Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines.

6th PLACE-in Color Guard (commanded by Cadet Michael Helton) - 6th Best Team in the, Drill World against Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines.

5th BEST team in the Drill World against Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines.

In addition to the team events, Cadet Cody Lowe was awarded 4th Place in the Nation for his solo performance and cadets Gentrie Lewis and Emmalee Jackson received 3rd Place in the Nation for their dual performance against teams representing the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines.

     Travis Pennell is in his 14th year teaching music with the Springfield Local School District and seventh as Director of the High School Band Program. He is an alumnus of the Ohio State University Marching Band and earned the Master of Music Education degree from Vandercook College of Music, Chicago, Illinois.

     1SG Rickey Thomas has coached the Drill Team for 18-years of the 35+ years that the JROTC program has been offered at Springfield High School. Under his direction the Emerald Guard has earned National Recognition - the ONLY Army JROTC to represent the five states that fall under the 7th Brigade.
