"Masters' co-champs win tournament!"

We finally won the 2nd game of a double header this year... and just in time! Jeff Wagenhauser put together a great team with the Sidelines squad and it took a great team effort from State Farm to get the win. Bill Wiseman was spectacular in the 2 games, walking only one and holding 2 good teams to single digit run totals... and he made 3 great defensive plays. The defense stepped up in a big way as important plays were turned in all night. Firtz Hartkopf was great at 1st, Ed Calderon, Dave Durfey, Mark Clair, Larry Hack and Sid Siddall were vacuum cleaners in the infield and Zubkoff, Gardner, Mantey and McGowan were outstanding in the OF in both games. The Defense and pitching stepped up in a big way during this tournament run, giving up only 28 runs in 3 games. Mantey, Clair, Zubkoff and Calderon had perfect games at the dish, as Hartkopf, McGowan and Hack added key hits to the cause. Leading hitters: Bob Zubkoff ( 3-3 2R 2B 3 RBI), Ed Calderon ( 3-3 3R 2B 3B), Mark Clair ( 3-3 3R), Craig Mantey ( 3-3), Fritz Hartkopf ( 2-3 2B 2 RBI), Dave Durfey ( 1-2 R 2 RBI), and Gary Gardner added a huge triple and 2 RBI. Thanks again to Jeff Traudt for his support... and thanks to my teammates for a great season. This was the most reliable bunch of players I've ever managed. Nice season guys!
